Lalamove drivers will hold a "Strike Booking" at the SONA in protest of unfair pay and vague policies.

Approximately 7,000 Lalamove drivers in the National Capital Region (NCR) are preparing for a "strike booking" on July 24, which falls on the same day as President Ferdinand Marcos' State of the Nation Address (SONA), in a bold mobile to demonstrate their displeasure. The decision is a response to long-standing complaints over insufficient booking fees and what they consider to be unfair prices.

The goal of the Lalamove drivers, according to a report by Bernadette Reyes on Super Radyo dzBB, is to raise awareness of their condition and put light on the difficulties they have in the ride-hailing market. They contend that the booking fees they are now receiving are insufficient to cover their needs, and they seek equitable payment for their services.

The drivers' complaints are being compounded by their criticism of some of Lalamove's user promos. They contend that because the corporation is not paying for these promotional benefits, the drivers are bearing the financial burden on their own.

The planned protest won't be limited to the NCR; Lalamove drivers are anticipated to join in support from all across the nation, including Batangas, Quezon, Laguna, Cebu, and Davao. This coordinated effort demonstrates the drivers' resolve to draw attention to the pervasive problems that affect their way of life.

The Lalamove drivers are really asking for their issues to be immediately addressed through this action. They want the ride-hailing platform to have open and fair policies that will encourage a positive working relationship between the business and its drivers.

Lalamove was contacted by GMA Integrated News for their opinion on the situation, but as of the time of publishing, they had not responded. The drivers' protest reflects the rising need for solutions to be put into action in order to address the problems they are having and guarantee a fair and sustainable working environment for all Lalamove drivers.
