Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board in Calabarzon approves wage increase
CALABARZON, Philippines - The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) has formally approved a pay increase for Calabarzon region workers. The decision, which will have an effect on a number of industries, including non-agriculture, agricultural, and smaller retail and service businesses, efforts to solve the financial difficulties that local workers must deal with.
Here are the key details of the approved wage hike:
1. Non-Agriculture Sector:
New Daily Wage: ₱520
2. Agriculture Sector:
New Daily Wage: ₱479
3. Retail and Service Establishments Employing not more than 10 Workers:
New Daily Wage: ₱385
This wage increase is a positive step towards improving the livelihoods of workers in Calabarzon. However, the wage adjustments vary based on the specific sector and region.
In comparison to the rest of the region, the provinces of Batangas and Cavite will see higher wages. These workers will receive an increase in daily pay of ₱89 as both were classified as component cities.
