Manila Police Apprehend City's Most Wanted Rape Suspect

Manila, Philippines - Manila Police District officials successfully apprehended Angelo Tapaya Ricarro, 21, who had been listed as the city's most sought rape suspect. The arrest occurred on Tuesday in Baseco Compound, Port Area, Manila.

The warrant for Ricarro's arrest was issued by the Manila Regional Trial Court Branch 29, which is presided over by Judge Delight Aissa Salvador. Ricarro, a fire volunteer, is accused of breaching Republic Act No. 11648, better known as the Anti-Rape Law.

Police Corporal Emmanuel Estaris, in a phone interview, who was engaged in executing the warrant, said that Ricarro, despite facing only one charge, was designated as the most wanted rape suspect. This distinction is based on the seriousness of the allegation and the fact that the alleged victim is a juvenile.
