"The law must take its course."

This was the response of Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin to the continuing operation towards Kingdom of Jesus Christ leader Apollo Quiboloy.

When reporters asked if the hunt for fugitive pastor Quiboloy was politically motivated, Bersamin stressed the legal procedure.

"He is answerable to the law; the law must take its course. There is a process in place," says Bersamin.

Bersamin declined to answer when questioned about Vice President Sara Duterte's apologies to KOJC members for encouraging them to vote for President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. in the 2022 elections.

Earlier, agents from Police Regional Office 11 claimed that they would not leave the KOJC premises until Quiboloy was captured.

Quiboloy is wanted for allegedly violating Republic Acts 7610, which protects children from abuse, exploitation, and discrimination, and 9208, which prohibits human trafficking.
