Presidential Envoy Benny Techico denies any link between the First Couple and POGO

At a recent news conference, Presidential Special Envoy to China for Trade, Investment, and Tourism Benny Techico denied charges made by Atty. Ferdinand Topacio claims that the First Couple has connections to Chinese investors connected to Philippine Offshore Gaming Operations (POGO). The charges originate from a group photo taken in a restaurant.

Techico also offered statements from persons identified in the photo, culled from the post's comments area. According to the allegations, the photograph was taken in 2020 during a casual meeting in which Chinese diners sought a picture with the group. BBM, then a private citizen, was joined by Chef Sandy Daza and former world shooting champion Jethro Dionisio. Techico denounced the allegations as spiteful and unfounded.
